2021 inclusion and equity PLEDGE

177 MiLLION black and Minority Women experiencing increased access to grants, funding and contracts

Over the days, weeks, and months ahead, you agree to pledge to:

  • Support our efforts to loosen or eliminate barriers preventing Black and Minority Women from being included in grant opportunities that exceed $177B each year. This can include: helping us count the number of black and minority women receiving or being included in project-based grants, government grants, and private foundation grants – by taking our short Survey
  • Support our efforts in ensuring at least 177 Million Black and Minority Women led businesses and non-profits in receiving unrestricted funding and grants each year – by using our GrantsWriting Tool, Library, and Support Resources
  • Assist or secure grants for your or other Black and Minority Women led businesses or non-profits that helps them report sustained project funding beyond the initial grant/funding cycle wherein less than 17% of grant projects receiving initial funding are sustained beyond their initial funding – by using our Grants Refunding Tool
  • Help us advocate in making at least 17% of all new grant opportunities issued unrestricted (or as unrestricted as possible), so recipients have maximum flexibility to respond to crisis in communities most affected by environmental, economic, and equity factors, highlighted by disparities, inequities, and exclusion – by taking our short Survey
  • Contribute to community-based emergencies that will fund and support 177M Black and Minority Women led organizations and businesses addressing environmental sustainability, economic opportunities, and equity in education, health, social service, social justice, and the arts – by becoming a member
  • Communicate proactively and regularly about our services, level of support or information provided that leads to small businesses experiencing change in the growth trajectory of their businesses ‘priority projects’ – by completing our service questionnaire
  • Participate in or support our 90 Day Sprints that elevate group economic opportunities with other Black and Minority Women entrepreneurs and executives in building wealth and minimizing the wealth-gap – by becoming a member
  • Herald local governments willing to pass resolutions supporting Inclusion and Equity for Black and Minority Women entrepreneurs and executives through grants, contracts, and diverse funding streams (supported by asset, land, business ownership) – by taking our short Survey
  • Support, as appropriate, grantee partners advocating for designated allocation of grant funding to go to Black and Minority Women led businesses and non-profits (similar to 8A government contracting and Affirmative Action in Grants Disbursement) by using our GrantsWriting Tool, Library, and Support Resources
